The best Inline Water Filter For Your Van
Clear20 RV and Marine In-line Water Filter
The Need For An Inline Water Filter
I have always tried to use filtered water as much as possible. Getting rid of chlorine and sulfur smells, as well as filtering out heavy metals, is important to me. Some people don’t feel we need to filter our water and others will only drink filtered water. If you’ve read this far I assume you are on team filter and are looking for a product to filter your RV water.
Ways To Filter Your Van Water
There are a few ways to filter your RV water. You can use a countertop filter pitcher like a Brita. This option eats up a lot of valuable counter space. You can use an inline filter which filters the water as it is being added to your fresh water tank. If you plan to fill your tank during your trip, just bring the small cylindrical filter with you. The other option is to install an under the counter filtration system, but that gets quite involved. Let’s talk inline filters.
How We Landed On This Filter
When I was looking at inline RV filters, I kept seeing the Camco, but it only filtered down to 20 microns. I wanted to get the water a bit more pure so I looked for better filtration. I found the Clear20 with a 5 micron filtration rate and decided to try it.
How It Works
The Clear20 inline filter I chose, screws onto your fill port and a garden hose connects the other end. After your tank is filled just store the filter in a cool place so it doesn’t dry out.
It was very easy to connect and use. Make sure you always use a 40-50psi (gold piece with orange end in picture) to protect your water lines from too much fill pressure. After my tank was full I ran the water into the sink for a few seconds and then drank a glass. I honestly could tell a difference in taste and smell. Your experience might be different as the quality and taste of water various around the country.
This filter is designed to reduce harmful contaminants, bad taste, sulfur odor and chlorine. I could go on and on about the taste like most of these filters ads do, but instead I’ll tell just say that I did notice the water tasted and smelled better. After all, that’s what we want right. I use this filter every time I fill the tank.
Our Conclusion
Well, the review is in the taste. This filter has really changed the way our van’s tap water tastes and smells. It is super easy to use as you can see in the picture. We are 100% satisfied with this product. You can easily fill an additional water container with it to add to your van’s total water supply.
