Why do so many gray tank drains come with such a tough cap to get off.   Additionally, why do we need to use such a bulky accordion hose? Well we found a solution to both those complaints. If you have an extra couple of minutes in your gray tank dumping day, then read on. 

This is one of those things I am always hearing RV owners complain about.  The factory equipped gray water drain caps are so damn hard to get off and on. After a few frustrating tank dumps I started searching for a better solution and ran across this great product.  

The Solution

I no longer have to use two hands at awkward angles to get my cap off. In addition to that, I don’t even need to take the  cap off to drain my tank. It has a small twist off cap that allows me to connect a collapsible garden hose to it. No more using that big bulky accordion hose.

I can still keep my collapsible garden hose in the tube under our van that used to house the accordion hose. We can also empty the gray tank further away from the van.   If everything going down the sink is biodegradable, we just water the tree in our yard. It’s looking pretty happy too.  

Ok yes, I hear you. Doesn’t it take longer to drain the tank? Yes, but for us, the other advantages outweigh the few extra minutes it takes to empty it.  We always have the option to remove tho whole cap for a faster dump.

Our Conclusion

This cap has really made dumping the gray tank a lot easier. The stock cap was a real pain in the #$% to get off and I have a pretty strong grip. Additionally I love the option of being able to dump the tank quickly with the accordion hose or using a compact garden hose to easily reach and water my tree with the gray water. We are 100% satisfied with this product and frequently recommend it to people we meet.
