Sometimes you have to buy things that you hope you never need to use. A spare tire is the perfect example and most new cars these days don’t come with one. Well in this case, this product has an additional use that might have you pulling them out more frequently.

These traction treads can double as leveling blocks. It’s always nice when one tool can be used for more more than one purpose. Of course its main use is to assist your tires in getting more traction. Whether you are stuck in mud, sand or snow, these high grip treads can get you out of a bad situation without waiting for an expensive tow truck. Along with a good shovel, to dig the tire out of whatever you are stuck in, and a tow strap, you are well equipped to get your van back on solid ground.

These traction treads are foldable and very compact compared to the solid board type. If space is limited these will be your best option. If space is not an issue or if you want to mount your treads on the outside of your van, then the solid board type might be for you.

Our Time May Come

While we have used all the products to date that we have reviewed, this is one item that we have thankfully not needed to use. I have watched a few Instagram and You Tube videos of them successfully being used. When and if the day comes that we need to use them, we feel confident that they will not let use down.

Our Conclusion

While we can’t comment from personal use on how they perform, we can confirm they appear to be strong and capable of extracting a van from being stuck. It was important for us that they did not take up much room. They fit nicely into one of our van’s cubbies along with our Rhino shovel and tow strap. We would recommend these for any van with limited storage space.
